This is what happens ... Now I have a tube TV and normal in a few months I will upgrade to an HDTV ... This DVD player is compatible with my tube TV in the meantime?

All Region 1 (Coded for North America) DVD player (and HD-DVD / Blu-ray player) with your standard definition TV. just not in HD because the TV, but you will still be able to all the movies you see.
Be yes, even room for the newest DVD player TV, but only a few new features like high-definition television is not used.
